Meet in Ft. Mahan Park, SW corner Grant and 42nd Streets NE (about 2 blocks east of Minnesota Ave. Metro Station). Hike about seven miles along eastern line of the Defenses of Washington. See Forts Mahan, Chaplin, Dupont, Davis, Ricketts, and Stanton. Spectacular views of US Capitol &Washington Monument. End at Anacostia Metro Station. Wear hiking boots or trail shoes. Bring water & lunch.
